Spelling Challenge Cards Level 1-5 Level 1 = phase 3 CEW and HFW Level 2 = Phase 4 CEW and HFW Level 3 = Phase 5a Level 4 = Phase 5b Level 5 = Phase 5c Each challenge card is split into bronze, silver and gold (these aren’t progressive, they just offer milestones) Children take the sheets home and practice the words. When they are confident they can spell them, the parents cut the relevant slip off the bottom and send it in to say they are ready to be tested! Teachers can test all/ a random sample of the words to validate. Each level has bronze, silver and gold certs.
